Puerto Williams is located on Isla Navarino and is the capital of the Chilean Antarctic Province. The port, which primarily serves as a naval base, is a departure point for private and charter trips to the Cape Horn and the Antarctic Peninsula. Residents of Puerto Williams claim that theirs is the southern most city on the world, although their neighbors in Ushuaia, across Beagle Bay contest this.
