Cambridge Bay is located on the southeast coast of Victoria Island in the Nunavut Territory. The port is a customary stop for passenger and research ships traveling through the Northwest Passage. The area has a reputation for excellent hunting, trapping and commercial fishing, Arctic char fishing, musk ox viewing and bird watching. The traditional Inuinnaqtun name for the area is Ikaluktuutiak which means “good fishing place”.
